Hello, I’m Kate — lifelong shoe enthusiast and proud founder of Oclaret.
Originally from Missouri, I moved to New York City in 2007 to pursue a career in fashion. What began as a love for heels evolved into a deep passion for sneakers — and over the past 18 years, that passion has shaped my journey as a footwear designer.
My career has taken me around the world — gathering inspiration in fashion capitals, collaborating with skilled makers, and working hands-on throughout the production process. Along the way, I've built a deep understanding of color theory, design, fit and craftsmanship. Just as importantly, I've seen where more can be done — especially for women.
This industry is still largely built by and for men. Yet it's women who drive trends, elevate brands, and deserve better options when it comes to design, comfort, and access. That's why I created Oclaret — not just to showcase exceptional sneakers, but to center women in the conversation.
